Using FSA, HSA, or Insurance for Your Wig
If you’re experiencing hair loss due to a medical condition or treatment, there may be ways to use healthcare funds to help cover the cost of your wig or topper.
Many of our clients are surprised to learn that wigs can sometimes be considered a medical expense. If your hair loss is related to conditions like alopecia, hormonal changes, stress, or treatments such as chemotherapy or radiation, you may be eligible to use funds from a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA).
In some cases, insurance plans may also offer partial reimbursement when a wig is deemed medically necessary. Coverage can vary, but we’re here to help you understand your options and make the process feel manageable.
